Sunset in Sant Antoni is a ritual: every evening thousands of people turn west as the sun drops into the sea. There are legendary spots and quiet corners — these are the ones we recommend, depending on the kind of evening you are after.
Sunset Strip: the classic
The stretch along Caló des Moro is home to the cafés that made this sunset famous — Café del Mar and Café Mambo above all. Music, atmosphere and the sun going down right in front of you. If you want a front-row table, book several days ahead; the free option is to take your own drink down to the rocks.
Punta Galera: the quiet one
Its flat rock terraces face due west and the mood is one of almost religious silence. Bring something comfortable to sit on, a few snacks, and enjoy the show without any loudspeakers.
Cala Comte and Cala Escondida
Twenty minutes away by car, the Cala Comte sunset holds its own against any in the world: the sun sinks between the islets with turquoise water in the foreground. In summer, get there at least an hour early if you want a spot.
From the water
The premium version: watching it while you float. An inflatable lilo just off S’Arenal or a short paddle board outing inside the bay turns the sunset into something that is yours alone. The sea usually settles as the evening comes in.

- A towel or a light hoodie — it cools down once the sun is gone
